I was cruising down the street in Edwardsville when I caught a glimpse of Elite Gaming (couple doors down from the theatre) --ducked my head in and they have some pretty cool stuff. Decent prices, good atmosphere....

*shrug*

Didnt have time to play - but definitely going back.

Thought ya'll might wanna know.

Does anyone know if this is by any chance the same person that opened "Abyss Gaming" a few years ago?

     Bryan,
We're totally different people.  I've talked to the owners about doing some Edwardsville vs. Collinsville tournaments and they were very interested.  There are two owners that I know of and I think one was named Mike.
Thanks for replying, and I checked out you're web page.  Calypso is really cool.

It's good to hear there are some new faces in town, while my gaming time has been somewhat small (ok lets be honest I haven't seen the goodness of rendered blood and violence in way too long) but if you get any RTCW tournaments going I would be there.

I'll tell Calypso you said that about her.

Bryan,
Unfortunately since we just started in June, we limited our purchasing to games listed on the top 10 on the  charts.  The games we carry that are similar to RTCW are Call of Duty, Counterstrike, FarCry, and UT2004.  Along with a few others.  We're having a COD 3 man tournament at noon on Veterans day if you're interested.  Otherwise, we're giving new customers a free hour of gametime if you'd like to try some new games out.

the first response I could think of was

"News flash genius RTCW is completely free :-P"

but then I realized that I should have pointed out I was referring to Return to Castle Wolfenstien: Enemy Territory which is a 100% completely free multiplayer stand alone that was released by Activision many moons ago.  If you do not have it installed on your machines I highly suggest you do so...then have a tournament. You can find out more aobut it here http://games.activision.com/games/wolfenstein/ just click on the "Enemy Territory" link at the top of the page.

Not everyone can be a Darwin,

I'm in Florida right now and this cheesy laptop
won't view the page.  I'll have to check it out when
I get back.  Last I remember RTCW was top notch.  I
just hope it's not like the old shows I liked when I
was a kid, that now that I'm older they've become dated
and cheesy.
Example, I never questioned there being only
one female Smurf until after puberty.  Now that evil
temptress created to bring down a utopian male society
has ruined the Smurf purity forever.

     All in good fun,

Enemy Territory is way cool. I think it would be awesome to get a team together.
Although I haven't play in a few months.

I would be all over at ET team, it's the only game that I really play any more.  The longer I've gone in the CS program (now a senior) the more I have gotten away from pirating software.  In fact I want to say I'm almost pirate free at this point.  The brutal side effect of that is not having $50 to drop on a game every time one comes out..that's why I play ET primarily, it's free!

btw, I didn't mean any offense by the "news flash genius" comment. I am a very dry, sarcastic, smart ass by nature and I come across very bad sometimes in plain text.

NP on the genius thing.

I understand the problem with buying games,  I just dropped about $200 for a years worth of Lineage II.

Another game which you are lacking (at least from the games section on your site) is Americas Army which is also free, and which i have wasted a good 15 hours in the last 7 days playing(according to xfire).

John Eachus

I'm adding a web blogger link soon so in the future you can make requests directly on our website.  So far I have RTCW which I will try to load by the end of the weekend, and Americas Army.  The list on our site isn't all inclusive.  I'm limited to my reviews by copyright request, time, etc...  You are right about us not having America's Army and I will try to remedy that.

Lineage II was requested by a customer and has since been a big hit, so I definitely take these requests seriously.  Thanks for your input LiquidNinja and Darwin, I'll keep you posted.

As requested RTCW ET has been added to our systems.  It's very nice.  I especially enjoyed being the Covert Ops guys so I can pants my enemy.

I have added the blogger to the Elite Gaming web page so you can make future requests directly to us.  www.elitegamingonline.blogspot.com or email me at john@elitegamingonline.com.  After all this is the CAOS forum and I'm just a guest here.

We did review America's Army but unfortunately it didn't make the cut.  Thanks for the requests, I do appreciate the input.
