Did you know that you can make a webpage from your Z: drive?

You can.  Just follow these easy steps.

1.   In the root of your Z: drive make a directory called â€Ã...“z:\public_htmlâ€Ã,.
2.   Create a webpage and call it â€Ã...“index.htmlâ€Ã,
3.   Put the page and any graphics or other documents it needs in the â€Ã...“z:\public_htmlâ€Ã, directory.
4.   Point your web browser at http://home.cs.siue.edu/~username where username is your SOENT username.  For example, use smithj if your name is Joe Smith.

The page that pops up first is the index.html.  If you do not have an index.html file the contents of that directory will be listed instead.  Note: Don’t forget the â€ËÅ"l’ on the end of index.html.

This webpage can be used to get files out of you home directory from off campus if you don’t like FTP, but be careful.  Any files you put on this page can be viewed by everyone.
