Title: Free Gaming at the Morris University Center
Post by: John Eachus on 2005-01-21T07:34:20-06:00 (Friday)
March 17th SIUE Web Radio and Elite Gaming LLC are hosting an open gaming center area in the Morris University Center.  This is to promote both of our organizations and let people know what we're about.

We will have participation prizes and it's a good chance to play games for free in between classes.  Hope to see you there.

A few questions about the Open Gaming Center...
1.) Will the systems being used at the event be the same computers from the store on Main Street and could we hear a little about the systems too?
2.) What type of games and game titles will be available to play?
3.) What time and location in the MUC will the event be held?

1. Yes, These are the same computers.  We will be closing shop for the day to bring them to Morris.

Custom built: Pentium 3.0, 2 gb of Ram, Radeon 9600 Pros.

2. Here's a few to start Star Wars Battlefronts, Battlefield Vietnam, FARCRY, Halo, Call of Duty, Rise of Nations, Dawn of war. MMORPS's won't be available and neiththough.

There's a lot more and a full list can be found here www.elitegamingonline.com/games/games.htm MMORPS's won't be available and neither will Valve games since we won't have internet access.

3. It's an all day event.  We're working on getting ATI to sponsor us so we can give away some cool prizes for participating.  Af far as I know we are in the MUC Lounge.

The time is approaching.

Remember, this is March 17th (the Thursday after Spring Break) from 10am to 2pm.  It would be great to see CAOS members and officers there in force.  This would also be a great plug for the CAOS lan party the following Saturday and for CAOS in general.

Be there or be square.

We had a large turnout and I was able to meet a few of you at the event.  Unfortunately I wasn't able to spend much time talking to anyone with the hectic schedule of the tournaments.

I appreciate all who attended and hope to see you Saturday.
