Title: Don't forget about the speaker tonight.
Post by: EvilAndrew on 2006-02-10T13:13:35-06:00 (Friday)
Don't forget that there is a speaker about ASP.NET 2.0, tonight.  There will be food (I assume Pizza) and prizes (I assume MS Stuff) too.

ASP.NET 2.0 Speaker (http://www.cs.siue.edu/news/story.aspx?StoryID=200602080) Friday at 7pm in EB1033 (http://www.cs.siue.edu/facilities/maps/eb/eb1033_large.png) (The Engineering Building Auditorium (http://www.cs.siue.edu/facilities/?Where=EB1033))

You should record it and make it the first in the CAOS podcast series :)

That would allow alumni to hear or see the speaker even if they are living in Colorado. ;-)

I have often thought of doing a PodCast (as I’m sure many people who like to talk do).  However, this sort of thing is tricky to do right.  Additionly, there are other problems with PodCasting guest speakers.  (1.) The attendance would dramatically decrease if anyone could see it later. (The attendance is how we attract speakers).  (2.) The speaker might have to give his/her permission and I am not sure we could get that.

Another, idea that we might have an easier time doing would be to use Skype (http://www.skype.com/) or Google Talk (http://www.google.com/talk/) to allow alumni to hear and forward questions to the speaker.
