Hello, I have a LCD TFT display off an old laptop that I'd like to use as a scrren for different PC. I know that if I can get the proper pinout information for the screen that I'll have a chance at getting it working. I assume someone here has done something similar, so here's my question- where exactly should I being on something like this? I'm a novice at electrical engineering stuff, so any advice is appreciated.
Also, has anyone else had to search for pinout information like this? I hit Google first to see if I could find the information, but so far I haven't gotten anywhere. It seems to be a popular screen since a bunch of places would be happy to sell me one of them, but I still can't find what I seek.
So, any suggestions on places to look would be great. Oh, and just for the hell of it, here's the specs on the screen:
Hosiden HLD1104-020120
11.3" TFT (I think it's 11.3")
40 pin connector at the base, but I think only 39 are hooked up (39 wires come into a board connected to the plug)
Anyway, thanks in advance- messing with this should keep me occupied for quite some time.
This has been a hot topic on the Obsolete Computer Museum Helpline (http://www.obsoletecomputermuseum.org/helpline) for quite a while, try searching the archives and see what you can find. All I could find from that, though, was a link to http://www.earthlcd.com--and no pinouts.
Tell me if you figure anything out, I've got an extra IBM ThinkPad display lying around, and I'd like to do something with it.
