Title: Microsoft Antispyware Software Considers Firefox a High Security Threat
Post by: Tyler on 2005-02-27T18:19:35-06:00 (Sunday)
I know it's already on Slashdot, but I can't help but laugh at M$ attempts to throw it's weight.

Slashdot Article (http://it.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/02/27/1522245&from=rss)

Sure it's not too accurate that Firefox is spyware, but from M$'s standpoint, it may not be a bad move.  If they bundle windows with this antispyware software, they could really put a hurt to Firefox if it picks it up automatically and removes it.

But of course the really funny reason is that most concur that Firefox is considerably more secure than IE.

This is just Gates trying to take the little man down. In the end it is more of a PR attack then anything. I have no worries since I allows root for the under dog.

Yep, it sure seems fake.  I installed Microsoft's spyware removal tool yesterday and it didn't flag firefox or thunderbird as a threat.
