Title: New nerd
Post by: Jerome Schoenfeld on 2007-10-15T17:40:13-05:00 (Monday)
Well I'm new to this whole region and these forums. I found it trolling the internet the other day. Would you expect anything less from a tech junkie? Just saying hello to my fellow SIUe computer nerds.

Well I'm definitely down for any LAN parties or just general techie talk. I do a lot of electronics repair and customization. I can also help with any gui / front end stuff that anyone may need or general networking knowledge.

We're always looking for more people to do a LAN with us. Last time we got RA2 working over Hamachi and it was pretty fun. (Getting it working however... was not fun, but now we know how to do it)

Yeah Hamachi can be a real pain with all of the router/firewall combinations. Especially when you have a multitude of people on the vpn.

Yeah... turned out you had to use a specific version of hamachi along with some very crazy settings on the network adapter in order to get it to work.

However, Hamachi has been fairly easy to use overall.
