I want to reinstall Windows Xp soon, as I got a virus and after cleaning the computer doesn't work as smooth as before. I gives some strange erros and sometimes it justs hangs up... I want to backup Outlook Express emails and settings before reinstall, and restore afterwards. Any help?
Find a folder like the following:
E:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{986A36CD-6827-4D63-B313-A7F70CAC6692}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
You'll have a different random identity number and probably a different username.
Just make a copy of the folder. After you create your new outlook express identity, but before you download any new messages (to prevent downloading new messages, just don't give it your email password the first time around), select:
File->Import->Messages...->Microsoft Outlook Express->Next->Import mail from an OE6 store directory
And give it the directory you backed up.
That's All!
Thank you!
I found a very good solution:
