Let's see here...
My current laptop (an IBM ThinkPad 760EL (http://www5.pc.ibm.com/us/products.nsf/$wwwPartNumLookup/_9547U6H)) would probably like a replacement. I've always wanted to give MacOSX a shot... so I'll get an Apple PowerBook G4 with a 17" display (http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/72104/wo/08fCUX0lNidX20NAmfh1FYtc4HL/1.0.7.1.0.5.3). That's only $5,280... and I'd still wonder if it's as rugged as my ThinkPad.
I have no real preferences in desktops, other than the fact that I love to build them myself, and they have to be relatively up to date. So as far as a case goes, I'd like to design one (and plan to do so) that looks like my Marantz 2240 (http://www.siue.edu/~chswing/pics/1063097376158_2240.jpg) (pic stolen from eBay auction). The CoolerMaster Musketeer (http://www.coolermaster.com/index.php?LT=english&Language_s=2&url_place=product&p_serial=LLC-U01&other_title=+LLC-U01+Musketeer&PHPSESSID=dfb04a13d4965539ae240323163234e8) would be a nice touch.
And I've always had some weird infatuation with old or obscure technology. I'd really enjoy getting a MITS Altair 8800 (http://www.obsoletecomputermuseum.org/altair/) or an IMSAI 8080 (http://www.obsoletecomputermuseum.org/imsai/). Or maybe some weird, short-lived Unix box like a NeXT Station (http://www.obsoletecomputermuseum.org/nextcolor/) or NeXT cube.

Argh... forgot to log in. Stiffler, can you either make it so I have a cookie on my machine that keeps me logged in, or that the theme sticks to my profile, so I know that if I don't have a theme I'm not logged in?
My Dream PC is whatever PC I'm currently using. Having a Dream PC that I have no chance of getting doesn't help me out at all. ;)

Rumor has it, the ECE Department has a NeXT Station in thier computer surplus closet. Dr. Noble mentioned this to me when he heard about LUUCS getting started and thought it would be a neat project for the group to take up. Perhaps they still have it?

I just got a new computer and it was a lot like this except that mine has a faster (in GHz) processor, only one of those harddrives, 1GB of slightly faster RAM and it was a PC so the Mac Specific stuff was omitted. The price was much less but Apples tend to be higher quality and I'll bet your 23 inch display cost about a third of this price.
The thing I have been most impressed with has been the Serial ATA hard drive. I installed Visual Studio.NET in about 8 min. from start to finish when it took about an hour just to copy the files on my old system. Office 2003 installed so fast I missed the files copying screen when I turned my head to watch a TV commercial. I am sure that a RAID would be much faster still, but for a single hard drive this is impressive.
