Title: Free flex builder license for students
Post by: Bryan on 2008-08-18T14:16:27-05:00 (Monday)
Adobe is giving away free flex builder licenses to college students. You can apply for one here: https://freeriatools.adobe.com/student.php

If you're not familiar with flex, think of it like "Visual Basic meets flash"  It's a rich internet application builder.

Not completely true. You can do it, it just takes some work.  http://systems.tinuum.net/?p=52 is a very nice tutorial on making it happen. A lot of our developers use this method because they don't do the design work, and the flex builder eclipse doesn't support some plugins.

As for the free license, it does work. I received mine in the mail this morning.

I just received my flex license. I guess keeping my old student ID was a good thing.

Wow thanks for this.  I spent hours trying to get Flex working with Eclipse and failed.
Only problem is that this is a non-profit version, but it's still great.
