Title: Update Corrupted CAOS Database
Post by: William Grim on 2005-10-01T02:59:10-05:00 (Saturday)
Hi.

I was doing an upgrade to the CAOS website, and it corrupted the CAOS database.  I was manually able to recover most of the DB.  I'll be in the process of finishing up the less important parts of the website over the weekend, but I wanted to get user accounts and the forums back up as soon as possible.

Sorry about the problems with that.  No one lost their avatars or posts.

On a good note, the database has been cleaned up A LOT (that is no exaggeration).  The old DB had all sorts of "dirty records."

Okay, I went through our DB backup and hand-fixed our backup and committed it to the DB.

Our site seems to be working again (including things like the CS Knowledge Base, which were broken before)!
