For those of you who don’t drive to the EB (http://www.cs.siue.edu/facilities/?Where=EB), the Green Parking Pass is the most sought-after pass for SIUE Engineers. This pass allows you to park right next to the building in Lot E (http://www.cs.siue.edu/facilities/maps/eb/eb_campus_large.png). Passes for this lot are limited so a "lottery" is held. Students who are officers for student organizations, or graduate assistants get high priority and other people are selected based on different criteria each year.
This year it seems to be first-come-first-serve. I have posted the official announcement with instructions (http://caos.siue.edu/modules/xoopsgallery/view_photo.php?xoops_imageid=141&set_albumName=album03&id=Green_Parking_Pass_Announcement) for getting on the list to the CAOS Gallery (http://caos.siue.edu/modules/xoopsgallery/). Apparently, you should send an e-mail at 12:01am on Friday of this week to get a pass.

I accidentenly sent the email at 12:00:55. Was that too early? When will we know who gets it? Is it free? Will they be selling additional green passes?
Kaitlyn, I think I know you. Did you take 325 this semester? Do you know your grade yet? I was thinking about sending the teacher an email and ask. Did he say if it would be OK?

Another important thing to note is that if you are permitted to get a pass you will be e-mailed and you will then have a few weeks to purchase your pass before it is given to someone else. Veronica thinks that you might be able to buy your parking pass online (https://parkingui.isg.siue.edu/t2/cmn/auth.php?fldNextSection=../per/index.php) after your name has been given to parking services, but it is probably better just to visit Parking Services at Rendleman Hall (http://admin.siue.edu/parking/aboutus.htm).

If you pay for a green pass and live on campus, they give you a yellow sticker for it, for free.

This system is a little bias. Since I live all the way up in the Chicagoland area, they will not mail me the parking pass. Instead, they want me to drive four hours to go get one. That is a little messed up.
Man, that's really stupid. Tell them you'll send them the cost of postage if it's such a big deal. Or maybe they want to make sure you aren't lying and getting a pass sent to another place of residence? If that's the case, just tell them to send it to the permanent address registered with the school and see what they say.
you should be able to confirm it and just pick it up when you come back to school in the fall....
Ok, so I've been in Springfield with an internship and haven't been paying much attention. So now in the fall is there no way to get a green pass? I swore my friend bought one at the beginning of fall semester last year. Finally, where is the link to this "list"?

martins, it says "by the second week of school..." I guess it means fall semester? Email them and make sure. I can pick it up for you if they let me. :-)
