I agree with Scott, you shouldn't support a party, you should support the individual who expresses your ideas and values.  One of the biggest problems in this country today is the fact that people vote for a party just because they have grown up that way, or they think it is the cool thing to do.  I know far too many people who vote for someone and have no clue what they are all about.  They either think that person is cool, or someone told them they should vote that way if they want to [fill in the blank].  Sux.
