Title: Z: drive off campus
Post by: John on 2006-11-29T13:13:23-06:00 (Wednesday)
I know we can ftp into the SIUE domain to view our mail folder and website stuff however is there any way to access our Z drive from off campus? Even if it's not via ftp.

Thanks,
John

I'm not really sure what everyone else does, but what I do is use WinSCP to connect to home.cs.siue.edu and then I can copy files to and from my Z drive.

Here is the link for WinSCP:
http://winscp.net/eng/download.php

For the settings:
Host name: home.cs.siue.edu
Username: Your SIUE username
Password: Your SIUE password

Then just click login (and answer yes if it asks you about some key).

Another option for accessing windows shares from off-campus is here.

http://shares.cs.siue.edu/

Click on the "Student Z-Drive (Home Folder) (https://shares.cs.siue.edu/share/ac/ebserver-04/home1)" link.
