We're a university, not a trade school.  Of course there will be gaps that employers find annoying; that's why they have training programs for fresh college grad hires.

Any position I've ever taken with an employer was with one that was more interested in how I applied skills I already knew and if I was capable of acquiring more skills with their help or on my own time.  University is all about teaching you how to do that.
