Monsanto will be discussing their Co-op program as well as what it is like to work at Monsanto.

Monsanto is well known for their co-op program, and co-ops are a good thing.

I will also be there, but I have a question. Do we have to stay for the whole thing or can we, say, show up for only the first half? It would be difficult for me to make the whole thing.
It might be a good idea to do a quick ethics check before flocking to Monsanto. The company has a pretty horrid reputation when it comes to environmental/ecological responsibility.

I'm going with Pete on this one. I don't have a link to the story right now, but they get a little sue happy when their seeds are found in other farmer's fields by no act of their own.
Almost all big companies do some "questionable" things. When you have that many money grubbers in one place with some power it is bound to happen. Even if you dislike the company, I'd say using them for internship/co-op experience would benefit you. It doesn't mean you have to keep working for them afterwards. And if they ask you to personally do what you consider unethical its up to you to refuse.
That being said, I agree with the previous posts about Monsanto for those and other reasons and have never had a job opportunity with them. But if they offered me a co-op tomorrow, I would probably take it and see what it was really like.
While I'm no fan of Monsanto, I think it's really a personal decision. Monsanto, Boeing, and AG Edwards are all huge employers in the St. Louis region. They are also all companies that anyone with sound and solid ethics would avoid like the plague. I personally have never worked for an employer that didn't make me question my own ethics. The worst of which would be SIUE.

No, everything has long since past and been handled appropriately. My point was that there are ethical problems anywhere, not just big name companies.
