Hi. I know that it needs a lot of work, however, even without configuration, I thought that this forum would work better than the broken xoops forum that we have been using. So, CAOS administrators, graphics designers et all - go ahead and start adding modules and customizing our new home!

I've uploaded the old avatars from caos (as well as some additional ones) but you will have re-associate them with your profiles yourself.

Hey, it looks like my start of the porting work helped you! I hope it wasn't too hard to get it going. Sorry that I kind of ran out of spare time to finish up the porting work, but you have made me quite proud!
Actually, SMF already had a porting module to rip data out of xoops. That is what I used (though it wasn't quite that trivial because the converter was written for a different version of xoops than we were using).

Does anyone remember the old post-count rank names that we had? Some of them were quite clever. I still have the gif for the 666 level.
I was going to suggest Google Cache or the Way Back Machine but it seems neither of them actually archived forums posts. Just the main page and a couple profiles. :no:

I guess that would have been the 2 (second) star rank? I think one of the higher ranks was "I live in CAOS" or something like that. I think that there was also one that said, "I reply to my own posts" but I'm not sure if we kept that one after stiffler graduated.
I checked the old database, and these are the rankings:
- Just popping in
- Not too shy to talk
- Quite a regular
- Just can't stay away
- Home away from home
We had something clever for the 666 ranking, but that was in the other database we had and was lost when we had to roll back. Maybe I can find it at some point.
Hmm, those obviously aren't the ones you wanted. I'll check later to see if they're hidden elsewhere in the old database.

Those are the only ones I can recall offhand. Unfortunately I don't know how many posts you had to make to get them.
Yes! That was two of them! Thanks. I'll probably try redistribute the number of posts required for each rank so that, ideally, most of those who tend to participate on this form will achive the top/5th(ish) rank by their senior year (I'll try to derrive some reasonable numbers based on the histogram of the members/posts). If no one can remeber the old ones, maybe someone(s) can put together some sort of poll with a list of clever rank discriptions that everyone could vote on?!
