Title: Accreditation Meeting with Undergraduate Students
Post by: Jerry on 2008-10-07T09:58:24-05:00 (Tuesday)

Next Monday, the 13th, a team of evaluators from the Computing Accreditation Commission of Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) will be here to review the Computer Science undergraduate program to determine if it will be re-accredited.

The evaluators have asked to meet with current undergraduate students to ask them questions and get their opinions. All CS undergraduates majors are welcome to attend.

The meeting will be Monday the 13th in EB 0012 from 4 to 5pm.

Receiving accreditation from ABET means that our program meets a high level of standards in both content and quality.

Accreditation is important to our program because it helps us recruit new students. It is important to you because you can put on your resume that you have graduated from an accredited program.

I would highly encourage everyone to go to this.  It's an excellent chance to learn a lot and speak your voice to someone not affiliated with the university.

Thanks to the students who showed up for this meeting.

The ABET Evaluators said it was a very good meeting and they were impressed with the students.
