Title: Fall 2010 - 490/590 What is it?
Post by: thatguy on 2010-03-24T20:19:09-05:00 (Wednesday)
I saw that there is a 490/590 being offered in the fall but it has no topic, even the instructor is TBD.

Any hints?

Unfortunately it is still unknown what the topic of this course will be.

The CS Department is trying to hire call staff to teach this and a couple of other classes, however, we have not had very good luck in hiring so far.

Stay tuned ...

Questions:

What does it take to be call staff?

How would one(not me) apply?

How many times can CS595 be repeated and count towards the MS?

In general, call staff must have a Masters degree in CS or closely related field, however, for some lower level courses we can hire someone with a BS degree.

To apply, a person only needs to send the CS Department a resume and a letter of interest.

Up to 6 hours of credit for CS 595 can be counted toward your degree.
