Title: Solar down?
Post by: Jason Vipond on 2003-07-08T11:54:28-05:00 (Tuesday)
I think solar has been down for almost a week.
Has it been put out of commission, or is it just being worked on?

It had a hardware failure.  The server is online again.

Solar is working again?  I just tried it a second ago, and it doesn't seem to be working anymore.

Might want to try again; it works and gives this listing from "w":

[grimw@solar 13:18:12 grimw]$ w
  1:18pm  up 21:56,  7 users,  load average: 0.05, 0.04, 0.03
User     tty           login@  idle   JCPU   PCPU  what
wadej    pts/1        Mon 3pm 21:41                /usr/bin/tcsh
bmw      pts/2        Mon 3pm 19:15     14      1  bash
gudurup  pts/3         8:53am    26                telnet cougar
skb      pts/5        12:10pm     6      1         ssh cougar.isg.siue.edu -l sbhat
kerwint  pts/6         1:10pm           19         -bash
haasd    pts/7         1:11pm     3                -bash
grimw    pts/8         1:18pm                      w

WOW!  Xoops doesn't like to keep proper formatting.

The web server has been brought online.

The service doesn't like to start on bootup, and I think I know why.  Hopefully I'll have that fixed by the next bootup session.

If you want XOOPS to keep the formatting (1) use html tags, or (2) use the code insert feature (It the button that has a picture the looks something like this: <> next to the big one that says manager). You can but anything you like between the code blocks, even carrage returns.
