Title: What happened to the news feeds?
Post by: Stiffler on 2003-09-16T09:11:50-05:00 (Tuesday)
I know the news feeds from various site have not been shown lately. I don't know why, either. I set the feeds to update once an hour, but they do not update until someone visits the website, so there could be as much as a day untill it gets updated, so I don't think this IP address was banned on the feed sites, or was it? Does anybody have an explaination for this. Is it because the network is bogged down, so the feeds time out. They were working over the summer when only the Courgar Village ppl where here. Now that ppl moved into the Res Halls, the feeds disappear. I think I've done all I can with settings. I just hope somebody can help me figure this out!

Thanks,
Jon

This is my post #299. One more, and I reach five stars!

They probably are taking a vacation with the polls module.

I don't know what you are talking about. The polls work. I went in and did that poll on the front page in a few seconds without changing a setting. Of course, I did create it as Admin. Oh, only those in the CAOS Officers group can create a poll, so if you want one created, send it to an officer for now. I might change it so that registered users can post a poll, but I need to test that idea. I also want to screen the polls to make sure it's appropriate. The poll module offers now submission approval system, and neither does the forums.
