Doesn't look like anyone has started this topic yet..

so FYI,

We are holding officer elections next Thursday, Feb 5th at 3:30pm. I'm not sure where this is taking place, so if anyone has that information - please post.


I'm planning to run for treasurer again! :)

I'm wanting to run for vice president, I really want to keep CAOS active and I have several ideas for events and activities this year. I also think LOTM should be recorded and available to download. I have a lot of free time this semester and I would love to dedicate it to CAOS.

Hey everybody. I'm running and campaigning for CAOS 2009 web admin. I have great ideas and improvements for CAOS. I have loads of freetime. I have Thursdays and Fridays available for me to do whatever I want, and I would like to allot a portion of that time to this organization.

I feel like the organization is suffering slightly, and I mean to aid in its recovery.  Some points of interest I would like to point to is the website.  Programming language of the month is, to me, a wonderful idea, however, the videos need to be uploaded to the CAOS site.  I think the forums are a good idea for its members, but I believe we need some format or structure to guide members in the direction of either forums, programming language of the month videos, or even cool projects students have done themselves that deserve special recognition.

Also, CAOS membership is extremely ambiguous. I feel that there should also be format and structure within that, other than "register on the forums and post more than once a year". That only shows dedication to the forums, not the organization, and is a somewhat flawed concept that needs improvement.

I have a ton of more crazy and great ideas but I don't want to make this a super long post, so if you elect me as your new CAOS web admin, I will assure you great things will come from it!

Elections will be taking place Feb 5th, 3:30-4:30 in EB0012

Hopefully we can get a really good team of people together to continue with the improvements and increased activity from last year.

I would really like to be more involved in CAOS.
So i am going to throw my hat in the ring for secretary.
I am a hard worker and i think i can really help out.

I must say I'm very excited about this potential group of CAOS officers.  I've worked with each and everyone of these individuals in some nature or another.  I honestly believe we can make a lot of great things continue to happen for CAOS.

P.S.  I would like to organize some type of fund raiser.  I would love to have some more money for activities.

I also will be re-running for Secretary.

I enjoyed getting a topic such as Language of the Month (LotM) started with Dr. Bouvier and i like getting the word out about CAOS and events that we have.

I also enjoy long walks on the beach, programming, and learning new languages..!

I believe our standard protocol when we have competition for a position is to first announce who is running for what.  When then give each candidate a chance to speak for a few minutes if they like.  Normal progression is current officer first.  We usually allow for questions to both candidates from the audience then place a name on paper counted ballot vote.
