I think you have to have a CAOS vote on the issue, per the SIUE rules for clubs.

Shoot, if the "rules" were the moderators get to delete whatever they feel like, or that Grim is the only moderator and makes all decisions, I would be fine with that.  Again, it isn't that I am against censorship, or that I took offense to him deleting it, I just feel something needs to be established and followed so we don't have to have this discussion again.

This was a good debate by the way.  Glad everyone can talk about an issue like this without taking it personal or getting bent out of shape.  Says a lot about who/what this organization is.
I would rather be hated for doing what I believe in, than loved for doing what I don't.

I have read the entire Kimmel handbook and don't recall anything, but I will double check as well as look over our constitution and make sure this is handled properly.

As promised the officers have thoroughly discuss this situation and have come to a decision.  Effective immediately the following will be our new policy regarding moderators/administrators and moderation.  All officers as well as our Faculty Advisor find this new policy to be acceptable.

<#begin>

Moderators & Administrators:

Only CAOS officers, the system administrator, and CS Faculty/Staff are to
be moderators.  Furthermore, only the President, Web Admin,
and system administrator are to be administrators.  Exceptions
can and will only be made with the approval of all CAOS Officers.

Moderation:

Any post that contains blatant unwarranted advertisement (spam bots), excessive
profanity, or pornographic material will be deleted immediately,
most likely resulting in the banning of the user as well.

Any post found highly disrespectful to students, faculty, staff etc. will be moderated.
Joking is acceptable unless the individual(s) at which the post(s) is/are directed requests
it be removed.  In these cases moderators are NOT to delete the posts, but edit them
removing the entire text of the post.  In its place the moderator is to state the reason
for moderation and place their name at the bottom of the edited post.

Moderators/administrators are to make judgments to the best of their ability.

I honestly believe we a have a great forum.  I love the free form nature of conversation, the fun, and the learning that takes place here.  In no way shape or form has this policy been put in place to dampen any of that spirit, only to ensure it can continue in a responsible and respectable manner.

Sounds awesome in particular, thank you. =)

Not a problem.  Remember the officers are here for YOU guys.  If you would like to see an event happen, a policy enforced, changed etc.  Let us know.  We serve you.
