We need people to come to this event! I just got the chance to see Blake speak at Ruby Hoedown last weekend and he knows his stuff.

So please come out and support CAOS. Having good turn outs at events like this means, well, more events like this.

He created this:

now he works for:

Everyone better be at this! He's coming all the way out here to talk, and ruby talks are somewhat infamous for being entertaining. It would be super embarrassing for us if only ten people showed up!

I can't wait, it should be awesome! Also I've used both heroku and sinatra and would recommend checking out both, very neat ideas.

I've never used either (or Ruby for that matter) but I'm free at that day AND time, so I'll definitely be there!

not to mention sinatra is an incredible framework. it is super super simple and allows you to create a website in very little time. ive used it for a few personal project as well as stuff at limewire. im currently using it at work to do prototyping and have nothing but good things to say about it.

This will be the most epic event of September 24th across the world.

This does set the bar pretty high for future LotM's.

Please send a message to our friends over in CMIS and AITP know about this.

You can send a message to the chair of CMIS, Dr. Bock.

You can find contact info for AITP here:

BTW, it seems no one has sent a message to STL Ruby Users group about this event. I think you could probably find someone interested there if you sent out an email.

Look's like we've been featured on Heroku's blog! This will surely help out with the advertising :)

This is cool stuff. I should be able to come as well.

(Also hi, this is my first semester at SIUE [transfer student], and my first time posting on these forums.)

Just a BUMP. Folks, this is TODAY. Blake is in St. Louis enjoying the midwest as we speak, so please make him at home tomorrow, show up, bring a friend, have some free pizza/soda, (you know the drill) and be prepared for some presentation awesomeness.

I don't think bumping forum threads are as effective without them either being on the front page or a link to the top X topics on the existing front page.  Currently, I think most people reading the forums will be active members anyway.
