This came up in the #siue irc channel on EFnet.  Some people found it to be a good idea and others thought it was lame.  So, cast your vote... Is a CAOS bowling match something we would like to do?  I think it would be neat to meet everyone while engaged in one of the worlds most physically demanding sports :)

Yeah, I'm all up for bowling.

Ha ha, you said "physically demanding" ;-p

I'll bring this up at our next CAOS officers meeting; thanks :-)

I would be, too.  If possible, put up a poll of dates and times and let's see how a vote comes out on the time.  I havent been able to make it to any functions besides the Redhat Road Tour thing, so hopefully I can make it to this.

Bowling sounds like a great idea.  I haven't bowled in a while.

I'm up for it too.

The fact that I mentioned the word "bowling" in #siue is irrelevent :-D

Was location discussed?  Would this be an on or off campus event?

If we do decide to do Cougar Lanes, is there any chance we can get a few lanes free-of-charge?

I was thinking of Couger Lanes.  This way our on campus CAOS people will not have to worry about arranging a ride.  If anyone needs a ride from off campus (Eville area...), I would be happy to give them a ride.

Yeah, at our CAOS officers meeting we brought up this idea.  We were thinking about a Bowl for Childrens thing or something like that.  I can't remember for exactly what cause anymore.

Sounded like a good thing to do.

The Bowl for Kids Sake is an annual fund raiser for Big Brothers/Big Sisters.  It's a really cool program that helps match children with positive role models.  We should deffinately get a team (or a few teams) together to participate.  Each team is composed of 5 bowlers who raise money through outside pledges before they bowl.  If anyone is interested, please let me know and I'll get you more details.

Geek bowling is another matter.  I'm all for a few frames of pin busting action alongside my computer geek brethren!

I checked out Cougar Lane's prices and hours.

shoe rental -----------------$1.00
each game (weekday) ---------$1.00
each game (weekend) ---------$1.50

We can reserve lanes during the following hours:

Monday - Thursday 8am  - 10pm
Friday            8am  - 7pm
Saturday          12pm - 7pm
Sunday            2pm  - 7pm

I'm going to make the reservations for the lanes this Friday, March 28, 2003.  No date is set yet.  I'm thinking that we should set up this bowling event on a weekday, when there are more people around campus.  Give me your input and let me know when you would rather bowl.

Sounds good to me. People can come for the LUUCS meeting and stay for the bowling.
