Need backup (potential problem, movie night)

In the spirit of my last movie night failure, I look to be heading to another.  Either netflix lost it, us postal lost it, or one of the little bastards in my neighborhood stole it..but the last movie I sent back to Netflix never made it.  Which means I'm currently waiting for them to sort it out so they can send me my next movie...which just happens to be: Hackers 2: operation track down!

If there is ANYONE out here that has access to a netflix account, or knows someone that has this movie, or can call around and find a place to rent it.. I would be grateful..I don't want this to be another bomb.

I don't.  We could call around, or as a last resort put something in it's place, some other nerd movie.

We will watch 2 movies that night!!!  Put suggestions on here, and bring your favorite nerd DVD to the movie night on Friday.  We will take a vote then if we have to.

NEIN! I dropped the ball last year..not gonna happen this year even if I have to buy the damn movie! :-P  I'm hoping netflix comes through..but it'd be nice to know there is a backup with Hackers 2

I watched this absolutely ridiculous movie on cable yesterday called "Purpose". Its about an Internet Start-up that is developing revolutionary streaming video protocol.

During the scene where they are doing their first public demo, the software crashes, the workstation begins to smoke, and it actually catches fire!

Then they cut away to a business news report where the reporter says something like "And the company states that the fire was not caused by their software"
 :lame:

"Make a Little Bird House in Your Soul" - TMBG...

If all else fails with Takedown, we could watch AntiTrust.

It's too bad we couldn't show a rip of Takedown :censored:.  If we could, I think I know someone who could get us a copy :shifty:.

I'm heading out to Glen Carbon tomorrow, I'll swing by Blockbuster and see if they have it.

Thanks.

At least they don't have late fees now :)

What a load, a buddy of mine had a movie out for a week and blockbuster called him saying he owed them the full price of the movie. I read the fine print and if your not careful you can get screwed hardcore by their not-late-fee fee. Sorry I have huge bitterness toward blockbuster. Maybe if they have the movie they will get some brownie points with me.
Sorry for the rant.

Figures.

I've always hated blockbuster--I would never go there.  I'm more of a Shop n Save / Schnucks kind of guy.  I don't like paying $3 a movie and getting reamed up the a$$ for forgetting to take it back.

Just one more reason to hate them.  :-x

As Brad said, the "no late fee" bullshit is just that.  When you have the movie out for a full week, you have agreed to purchase the movie.  Which if it is a new release, can be INCREDIBLY expensive.  Anyway I just got word from Netflix, Track Down should be shipping today whihc means it will be here by Friday

Sweet, it seems as if our "potential problem" has been averted.

Cool.  I checked Blockbuster today and they didn't have it.  I was going to suggest War Games in its place, since I'm pretty sure my roommate would loan it to me if I asked nicely.
