Each year publishers send examination copies of books to professors in an attempt to entice them to adopt new books for their courses.

Some publishers make it easy to send unwanted books back, some don't.

I (and other profs) would like to make left over books available to CS students.

In the past I have tried to put them in 2029 on the bookshelf, but I don't think anyone takes them. I sometimes put them in the hall by the elevators, but I'm not sure they get in the hands of CS students.

Any ideas of how to do this?

Maybe they can be brought to a CAOS meeting and placed on a table for people to take as they wish.

Sounds good.

Seeing as how I generally stop by there at least once a day, I wouldn't mind pickin' them up...

Just a few flyers saying free CS books to CS students in room soandso placed strategically around the EB would probably work out.  Granted, I'm sure a few non CS students might try to get their hands on them, but most often then not the most interested individuals in CS books would be CS students. Ill be going to get free cs books tomarrow.

Speaking of free books, later I will probaly put up a poll about this aswell. If there are ANY MS Press, and yes I mean ANY, let me know. Through the MSA, Microsoft Student Ambassdorship, I can get 20 free books in the next year. Can anyone say door prizes  :-D  :-D !!

P.S. This books are like 50-60 bucks a pop :-o
