I just received an email about two meetings that are taking place next week dealing with this user group. Here is what was sent in the email:

QuoteTue 15 Nov 5-8 pm Job/Career Fair at 1 Cityplace Auditorium
Speakers:  Dave Schmitt from Microsoft
                 Pat Niemeyer from O'Reilly
Free food, drink, parking
http://stlwebdev.org/index.php

Wed 16 Nov 6-9pm 3 Cityplace 11th floor,
Dave Schmitt from Microsoft
Free food, drink, parking
http://stlvbug.net

If you can make any or send some people needing jobs, have them bring 15 resumes.

This would be a great opportunity to get in touch with local professionals. I know someone went to their last meeting and had good things to say about it. If anyone has any questions please let me know.

The VBUG meeting was actually very interesting.  There was almost no mention of VB, however, which seems a bit odd given the name of the group.

They talked about a lot of the new technologies coming in the next release of Windows (and they showed some videos of Vista's slick new interface).

Also, the food was good, and there weren't too many people in attendance to compete with for free stuff  :-)

They gave away some kinda neat portable barcode scanners, $25 gift cards for Shell gas, some large books on .Net, stress balls, cupholders, t-shirts, and leather-bound notebooks.  Some of it was actually being given away by their sponsor, Envision, like the cupholder and notebook.
It sounded like they were supposed to have software to give away, but couldn't get it in time.
