You may have noticed that SIUE has a few electronic message boards around campus.  These boards are a good way to get the word out about student organization sponsored events.  What you probably didn’t know is that it is easy to get a message posted to these boards.

All you have to do is:
1. Read and follow the policies
2. Fill out the Electronic Signs Message Submission Form (10 days before the Message is to appear)

A few years ago CAOS tried to get a message posted for the RedHat Road Tour and it was rejected because RedHat is a commercial organization, but if CAOS was running a LAN tournament, or featuring a speaker who is not being paid to speak by a commercial organization then I am pretty sure it would be approved.

The only other thing to watch out for is that your posted event must appeal to a wide audience.  For example, a talk on technology in Pop. culture would probably be appropriate because many students from different departments might be interested.  However, a technical demonstration of AJAX technologies would probably only appeal to CS, CMIS, and ECE students and so would not be permitted.
