The First Robotic Musician

So I dunno' if any of you saw this on Slashdot, but Georgia Tech has developed a robot musician that keeps a pretty good beat (almost primal... ;-) ).  Check it out:

- Haile Robot Drummer Prototype
- Haile, the interactive robot drummer

All I need is a bassist (**cough**... iamjwc... **cough**) and a singer, and I've got myself another band! :-P

Hmm, Haile would be an awesome pickup player for Captured! by Robots.  On a related note, this could actually provide some interesting multi-robot interaction research; what kind of music would an [impromptu] band of these types of [learning] (i.e., not pre-programmed) robots generate?  Hmm,... :-D
