Saturday morning October 12 at approximately 4:40 am, there was a fire
in Building 428 at Cougar Village.  The initial report of the fire was
transmitted electronically to the Police from Building 428. The fire
destroyed all  the apartments in the building.  There was one student
taken to the hospital and he is suppose to be released from the hospital
early in the week.  All 30 occupants were relocated to other apartments
in Cougar Village and the Red Cross assisted residents with food and
clothing allowances.  Further details will be communicated as they
become available.

Just a side note: I remeber reading an article in Alestle about the Lawsuit for the fire last year, and it said that CV Residents did not need to worry, because it will not happen again. Yeah, well a couple of days after the printing of that artical, it happened again. I believe it was in last weeks edition.

Yeah, I read that in the Alestle too and got the email from Housing (I don't think entire articles need to be posted here).

I think something should be done over there if fires are such a big issue.

Yeah, remember the fire last spring in building 412. That was my building. The school didn't re-emberse me for anything...and the fire was electrical (not our fault). After the fire, they told the people in the building attached to ours to move back in. They had kids and told the school that outlets had been popping and smoking and that they did not feel safe. The school didn't care. They had to move back in. It's a shame we attend a university that does not care about its students...
