Um...did you read the Siggraph application from last year...or are you just on the same wavelength?  One of the stories they asked you to write about had to do with Sharks with lasers mounted on their heads...

Seems to be quite an achievement.

From what I understand from the article, this opens up the possibility of using "nature's machinary" to engineer at a molecular / cellular level.

Could this be a first step towards the Universal assembler in nanotechnology?

Follow-up TED video by lead biologist Craig Venter.  Very cool video, I'm tempted to take up a career in this field even more now.
