As part of the Utility Relocation Project for the Student Success Center the
main campus electrical feeders must be re-routed.   While there is no good
time for an electrical outage, we have scheduled it for Saturday March 15,
during spring break, to minimize the impact.

The outage will include all of the Edwardsville campus core buildings
including the Residence Halls. Power will go off between 7:00AM and 8:00 AM
and be restored at about 6:00 PM.  Because the lighting will be off,
affected campus buildings will be closed during the outage.  Please do not
come to campus.  There will be no light, power, heating, cooling or
ventilation in the affected buildings.

The following will not be affected by the outage: University Park, Cougar
Village, ERTC, Gardens at SIUE, Athletic facilities on Stadium Drive and New
Poag Road, Credit Union, and the Counseling Center.

Emergency generators will be run in Dunham Hall, Science Building, and the
Police Station.  All other generators will be turned off to avoid potential
safety issues.  We will be coordinating with the faculty and staff in the
Science building to protect critical research.

It is highly recommended that computers and other electronics be turned off
when you leave for Spring Break or on Friday March 14. Most UPS systems will
not hold through this long of an outage.

Glad it is during break. They had to shut down power here in evergreen for about 20 min once.... Seemed a lot longer...

CAOS will be shutdown later today and will not be back up until sometime Sunday afternoon.  Everything else that is housed in the SIUE engineering building will also be powered off (e.g. the CS web server) so don't be surprised.
