Anyone interested in Qt/KDE programming?

I have a bad habit of starting to learn something, only to set it down because I find something else to read/learn, which makes me know a little about a lot of different subjects.  However, I really want to become a KDE developer.  If I have a partner that I can sit down and make goals with, and meet with once a week or so, it would help me stay on track.  I've borrowed an excellent book on Qt from Joe Burns, who is already and established member of the KDE development team, and he said that he would be willing to field the questions that may arise.

Why specifically KDE?

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Personally, I've just recently delved into GTK/GNOME development for small personal projects. Either way, once you get gui programming down, the knowledge applies pretty much anywhere, it's just a matter of learning the API's.

Does KDE have good openGL support? That's one area I've found lacking in GTK. Or perhaps I just haven't found the right combination of libraries or the proper approach.
