I was glancing at this year's Ignoble Prize winners when I saw that few years ago a couple of computer scientists one a prize for inventing software that recognizes when a cat has walked across your keyboard.

It is called Paw Sense: http://www.bitboost.com/pawsense/

I have a feeling that most people would not pay $22 for this.  I would most defiantly not because I lock my computer whenever I get up.  I picked up the locking habit from tutoring in the tutor lab and it solves this problem with no trouble as long as I don't change my password to â€Ã...“loioilikkoloioiâ€Ã,.

What the!

It appears that cats have stolen my super secret password!

As silly as this software program seems, it may have actually served a useful purpose back in the 9x days, before it was really possible to lock your computer (there wasn't anything built in, short of activating your screensaver when you left).  My 95 machine actually had a keyboard lock on it (though it was pretty cruddy and a small screwdriver worked as well as
the key)

I don't let my dog near my computer. :)
