Music sales on the rise despite "rampant piracy"

Music sales are up 10 percent, and that is in the face of the RIAA suing 12 year old girls.  I wonder how much money they have to make before they can accept that fair use is not infringing use.

The RIAA is throwing lawsuit after lawsuit at people that can't afford to put up a fight (which I assure you is no coincidence).   There are countless more users everyday on emule, "legit" music download services are declining, and more music is being sold?

Maybe they will realize someday that p2p is not the devil, and that just because I can get music for free, doesn't mean I'd buy it if I couldn't.

A story at http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/10/21/riaa_mid2004_salesshock/">The Register talks more about it.
