I have three students who are having trouble installing VS.NET.  If you feel qualified (or feel that you could become so in a short time) to help them then please send me an e-mail (rlamoni at our school's domain).  I am sure they would appreciate the help.

Visual Studio .NET (or VS.NET) is a software package sold by Microsoft that is used for developing software.  In the SIUE Computer Science Department, it is the first IDE (Integrated Development Environment) that students are taught how to use.  The purpose of an IDE is to make computer programming easier by providing useful tools together as a package.  VS.NET supports several languages including C++, C#, and Visual Basic.  It can also be used as a web site/application developer.

There are many alternatives to Visual Studio that work on different operating systems, have different features, and support different languages.  Some of these include Eclipse, kdevelop, and Anjuta.

If you need more information about VS.NET specifically I suggest you try Microsoft’s Vsiual Studio Website. (http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio)

If you are taking a computer science class and need a copy of VS.NET for your home computer I suggest you visit CSD (http://www.cs.siue.edu/csd) and click on the MSDNAA link at the left of the screen.

Ah sorry, I don't pay too much attention to the Microsoft side of the house and when I googled vs.net it came up with only one result.  I, being a retard, didn't realize it just showed me the web page http://vs.net.

I can help them out. Just tell them to find me in FH0301 on any Monday 10:00am - 1:30pm.
